First of all, define your long-term goal.
Then, divide it into small partitions.
After that, devise a plan to achieve the immediate step.
This is where the crucial part comes into play.
You must observe your useless urges. Escapism tendencies, over-spending time in bars and drinking, being in contact with toxic people, video games, anime, movies and what not.
Not to say that any of those things are negatives, but just know that they drain energy, precious energy which could be used to improve your odds.
So, close your eyes and imagine yourself talking to the you who wants to escape the moment, and ask him.
Why do you do that? Why is it so crucial to you? What must be done for you to give it up?
